Citizenship Research

Already working with another firm? Some citizenship companies don't do their own genealogy. We provide the research they need — or verify what they've already done.

Considering citizenship but not sure? Start with research. We'll tell you if the records exist before you commit to the full citizenship process. This is the low-risk first step.

If you later decide to proceed with citizenship through us, the research cost is credited toward your citizenship package.

Standalone Exploration

Know some facts? Want to dig deeper? Maybe you have a name, a town, a story — and you want to find out more. Our research can uncover:

  • Property rights — ancestors may have owned land still registered in family names
  • Inheritance claims — Polish law recognizes descendants' rights to ancestral property
  • Legal rights — citizenship isn't the only right that passes through bloodlines
  • Historical context — what happened to your family during the wars, partitions, communist era

Research often reveals more than expected. We've helped families discover property, reconnect with living relatives, and understand their history.

Heritage & Family Bonding

Not about legal rights — about identity. Some clients just want to know where they come from. Build a family tree. Understand the names, the places, the traditions.

We offer:

  • Family tree construction — as far back as records allow (often 7+ generations)
  • Family history narrative — written account of your family's story in Poland
  • Photo & document collection — copies of original records, photographs from archives
  • Living relative search — connect with family still in Poland

This makes a meaningful gift for family reunions, heritage trips, or passing knowledge to the next generation.

Research Tiers

Same methodology, expanding scope. Each tier includes everything below it.

1
Standard
Polish civil and state archives — the foundation of every research case.
Sources: Civil record offices (USC), state archives (AP), vital records registries, regional archives
Records: Birth, marriage, death certificates from 1808+, census, administrative records
Coverage: All 16 voivodeships
2
Extended
Standard + church archives, military, property, and other local resources.
Additional sources: Catholic parish archives, Jewish community records, Protestant church books, military archives, property registries, cadastral offices, local historical societies, notarial records
Goes deeper: Pre-1808 records, handwritten parish books, regional collections, emigration lists
3
Extended + Foreign
Borders changed over time. What's Poland today was once Austria, Prussia, Lithuania. Your ancestors' records may sit in archives of neighboring countries.
We search directly (historical neighbors):
🇩🇪 Germany — Silesia, Pomerania, East Prussia (Standesämter, church books)
🇦🇹 Austria — Galicia (Lemberg/Lwów archives)
🇺🇦 Ukraine — Kresy, eastern territories (Lviv archives)
🇱🇹 Lithuania — former Commonwealth territories
🇱🇻 Latvia — Courland, Livonia
🇧🇾 Belarus — limited access (assessed case by case)

We guide you (emigration countries):
Our expertise is Polish authorities, but we know exactly where to search abroad and what to look for:
🇺🇸 USA — NARA, Ellis Island, state archives
🇬🇧 UK — National Archives, parish records
🇦🇺 Australia — NAA, state records
🇨🇦 Canada — LAC, provincial archives
🇦🇷 Argentina — CEMLA, civil registries
🇮🇱 Israel — Yad Vashem, IPN records
We direct you on what to request, where to send it, and how to use what comes back.

Genealogy + Citizenship

Genealogy is not included by default in citizenship services — but it can be added. Many citizenship cases need archive research to locate documents, and we offer it as an optional add-on with scope-dependent pricing.

Already our citizenship client? We can add genealogy research to your case. Your case manager handles it seamlessly.

Working with another citizenship agency? If they don't provide genealogy research, we can. We deliver the records they need for your application.

Common Questions

How far back can you research?
Polish civil records go back to 1808. Church records even earlier — sometimes to the 1600s.
What if I only know a surname?
A surname and approximate region/date is enough to start. We narrow it down from there.
Can research lead to property claims?
Yes. We've helped families discover property still registered in ancestors' names. Polish inheritance law recognizes descendants.
How is pricing determined?
Based on scope — number of ancestors, regions, and record availability. We quote after the free assessment.
